About...

Northland guitarist/producer Brian Baker continues to write and produce stunning work. Songs and compositions that are simultaneously ear worms and unlike anything we’ve heard before. His journey into new sonic pastures is constantly surprising. “The Last River” could be a reworking of an old Mississippi spiritual or a song from deep in the Appalachians,  interpreted by Leonard Cohen teamed with an Angus Young guitar break and a drum loop from the Lo Fi nineties! From Brian, “This is such a simple song but I had to live the part to be in the track. It’s more on (Joseph Cambell's) the hero’s journey. The protagonist is returning home and is seeing what needs to be cleared from the path. ‘Narrow paths and hard choices’ - the last bear to wrestle looms…” And a fun track to play and record, mid tempo groove, acoustic and electric guitars, and THAT drum loop!”
